Independent evaluation of AML/CTF program

Governance & people

The periodic independent review of a reporting entity's AML/CTF program — required under the AML/CTF Rules 2025 — testing whether the program operates as designed and remains appropriate to the venue's risk. The evaluator must be sufficiently independent of the program's day-to-day operation (often an external consultant). Review frequency is set by the venue's risk-assessment outcome and the Rules; the report is provided to the senior manager and the board.

This term sits in the governance & people section of the working glossary — vocabulary covering board duties, senior-manager accountability, training-register discipline, and decision-of-authority records.
